Canada India Institutional Co-operation Project

The Canada India Institutional Co-operation Project (CIICP) is a Technical Education Project launched in 1991 through Memorandum of Understanding between the Government of Canada and Government of India.  The main objective of the Canada India Institutional Co-Operation Project is to strengthen the Polytechnic system in India through MHRD (Ministry of Human Resource Development) by using existing facilities and resources to offer need based Programmes to the stakeholders in and around Puducherry.

The State Project Co-ordination Unit (SPCU), Directorate of Technical Education, Tamil Nadu has identified our Institution to implement Canada India Institutional Co-Operation Project initiatives under Phase IX replication process from the year 2007-08. Skill-oriented, tailor-made, short-term courses are being offered, to the students, public and employees of Industries, under Continuing Education.

Mission

CIT Sandwich Polytechnic College, Coimbatore, is to provide Technical Education and Training for secondary school certificate holders.

The institution also offers certificate courses and non-formal programmes through a variety of delivery modes for the students, public and the employees of industries.

The institution responds to the needs of the community by offering need based and cost effective diploma and certificate programmes to meet the technical man power requirements of the rapidly changing economy in tune with emerging technologies of the country and world. The Polytechnic College helps to enhance the competence profile of the employed, physically and socially disadvantaged youth, school dropouts, widows and destitute women through appropriate programmes and career guidance.

Our core values are aimed at equity of opportunity, accessibility, maintenance of integrity, innovation, high ethical and moral standards in an environment of participation and information sharing and faculty development.

Mandate

CIT Sandwich Polytechnic College, Coimbatore, a Government aided, Co-educational Institution, established and run by V. Rangaswamy Naidu Educational Trust is to offer post-matric level technical education in Full Time, Part Time and Sandwich modes, leading to the Diploma from the State Board of Technical Education and Training Tamilnadu, in compliance with all Government and AICTE rules and regulations.
